Esol Instructor

Newcastle College require a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Instructor in ESOL. You will work with a range of adult ESOL learners across different classrooms including computer labs at Riverside Dene, supporting learners to improve their English skills. You will be actively involved with the students’ learning and you will be moving around the rooms in order to monitor, support and mentor our adult learners.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
- To instruct, monitor and support adult ESOL learners, using a variety of methods in workshop and computer-based digi-lab sessions
- To work with the ESOL team to develop learners' English and support continuous improvement activities
- To work with the ESOL team to develop resources for learners from Pre Entry level to Level 2
- To contribute to strategies to improve student achievement, attendance and retention.
- To contribute to the Additional Learning Support process.
An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines and have strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
This post will require you to work on a Friday. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evenings.
