This is an excellent opportunity to join this busy and fast paced Programme and to support the work of a high profile area of the Scottish Government.

This National Care Service (NCS) Programme is a key Government commitment, central to improving social care in Scotland. Following the Independent Review on Adult Social Care, a commitment to create a National Care Service was been made.

As a Scottish Government Modern Apprentice you will be part of a team that leads on the cross Government programme, which will be established to deliver this commitment.

The duties of the post are varied, and you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across the Division, Directorate and wider Scottish Government in a variety of areas including programme management, supporting policy co-ordination and business management.

As a new Division working in a high profile area, we support each other and have a strong focus on providing staff with brilliant opportunities and working together to create an environment which prioritises health and wellbeing and learning and development.

You will be given opportunities to grow and develop your skills within this role, and gain valuable experience in programme management, engaging with colleagues across the office and supporting a wide range of work within a busy, fast paced Division.

**Responsibilities**:

- To provide administrative support across the team on various projects demonstrating a consistent ability to create and present material in the most appropriate format. This will include spreadsheets, presentation slides and word documents.
- Organise team meetings effectively to ensure management of time, support in preparing any papers for meetings, prioritise effective diary requests and changes, manage logistics for meetings including taking notes and actions.
- To provide financial administrative support to the team, processing payments, using the internal budgeting system and electronic ordering and payment systems.
- Providing support to update relevant documents and ensuring documents are filed appropriately within the SG electronic record and document management system (eRDM)
- Working flexibly to support wider administrative duties and tasks during busy periods across the division
- Maintaining and ordering equipment and stationery as required

Qualifications:
**Essential Criteria**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to develop confidence in dealing with a range of people at all levels.
- Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and plan workload, often working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Able to work on own initiative and seek support and advice from appropriate colleagues at the appropriate time.
- Working knowledge of IT packages such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
