The school enables an extended curriculum that goes beyond the school day and is crucial to the learning and development of the children and young people.

As part of the role of a Residential Key Worker, you will actively engage with young people to ensure their residential experience enhances their learning by giving them the opportunity to transfer and generalise their knowledge and skills from one environment to another over a 24-hour period. You will strive to support the children and young people to:

- Keep safe.
- Progress educationally to their full potential developing skills for adulthood and towards independent living.
- Accredited to ensure that they can progress along their pathways.
- Supporting and motivating our children and young people in making sustainable progress.
- Utilise resources to support children and young people to be as independent as possible in their learning.
- Communicate, interact and express their wishes and preferences.
- Maintain dignity and self-esteem as individuals.
- Become valued members of the community.

To be successful in the role of Residential Key Worker
- You will need to be passionate, enthusiastic, driven and ready for a challenge.
- You will be forward thinking, adaptive and creative in developing the provision.
- You will work closely with the excellent residential staff team to deliver the 24-hour curriculum as well as supporting the children and young people in their holistic development.
- You will strive to provide a warm, caring, positive and stimulating environment and coordinate the residential staff team to ensure that the standards and expectations of care are of the highest quality.
- You will encourage the children and young people to thrive by investing time, listening, and celebrating their individuality and achievements whilst supporting them step by step on their pathway to adulthood.

It is essential that you have proven experience in a similar education or social care setting and an NVQ level 3 qualification relating to children, young people / social care.
