**Job summary**An organisation that helps people, businesses and the UK economy by promoting competitive markets and tackling unfair behaviour is looking to recruit a Market Research Advisor to join a team of researchers and statisticians working on a diverse portfolio ofresearch.
**Key responsibilities**:

- Lead on research projects to provide evidence on cases - work with case teams (comprised of economists and other colleagues to assess whether research is required and to advise on the most appropriate research approach to take to provide suitably robustevidence to inform case decisions.
- Lead on the procurement and project management of research contracts - this will involve working closely with colleagues in the commercial team procuring and managing a range of contracts which will range from relatively small, straight-forward projectsto high value, complex studies.
- Lead on survey and qualitative research design - the organisation works on a hugely diverse range of mergers and markets cases which require research evidence, as well as other forms of research (e.g. communications evaluation) and, as such, each studyis bespoke. The post-holder will be expected to take the leading role in (often complex) sample and questionnaire/discussion guide design, working closely and collaboratively with the research contractor and colleagues on the case team.

**Skills and experience**:

- Significant experience in research methods, statistics, behavioural science, economics, or a related discipline.
- Substantial client or research agency experience of working on market or social research projects across a range of markets/topics.
- Significant experience and understanding in all aspects of quantitative research and survey design. Strong questionnaire design skills are essential.
- Strong understanding and experience of qualitative research design.
- Experience of management of the end-to-end process of the design, development, management and timely delivery of multiple projects concurrently (ideally in a leading role), in cross-disciplinary teams and to tight deadlines.
- The ability to communicate research results (both verbally and in writing) in a clear and impactful way to non-technical audiences, including to senior audiences.
- Ability to build and develop strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

**What you'll get in return**This is a full-time, 6-month temporary assignment paying £290 - £370/da Umbrella LTD. Annual salary take home equivalent: £55,874 - £71,287 (based on 34 days leave). Hybrid working with 2 days in the office (London) per week.
