**About Us**:At AK Teaching, we specialize in providing exceptional supply staff to schools across the North East. Our aim is to ensure that every student receives the support they need to excel academically, emotionally, and socially. We are seeking a skilled SEMH Teaching Assistant to work with pupils who may display very challenging behaviours.

**Key Responsibilities**:As an SEMH Teaching Assistant with AK Teaching, your role will be diverse and rewarding. Your responsibilities will include:

- Building positive and supportive relationships with students, offering them the emotional guidance they need.
- Assisting teachers in delivering tailored lessons and interventions that cater to the individual needs of students.
- Implementing effective strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors, maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Collaborating with school staff and the SENCO to contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
- Leading small group activities focused on enhancing social skills, emotional regulation, and self-confidence.
- Documenting and communicating student progress and behaviors to school staff.
- Contributing to the creation of an inclusive and supportive school community.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working with students who display challenging behaviors due to SEMH needs.
- Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and the ability to provide empathetic and patient support.
- Excellent communication skills, both with students and colleagues.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying school environments and the needs of students.
- A proactive and team-oriented approach to problem-solving and collaboration.

**Salary**: £75.00-£85.00 per day
