Little Lancing are currently working with a variety of training providers to support our fantastic apprenticeship programme in Early Years.

**The Opportunity**

**You will be fully supported to obtain either a level 2 or 3 in Early Years.**

We have supported apprentices for the last 4 Years, throughout their training programme and beyond as permanent members of staff.

Hours of work will be 40 hours per week (36 hours nursery based plus 4 hours Professional Development Time).

(Some flexibility is required as you may be required to work occasional extra hours, for which time off in lieu will be given.)

**As the successful applicant, throughout this programme you will be supported to**:

- Contribute to a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children and the Early Years Framework.
- Build strong working relationships with parents and other family members, alongside management and other colleagues.
- Assist daily, weekly, and monthly with checks around the nursery, ensuring the nursery is always clean and safe.
- Take children on walks/visits through the Lancing College Estate visiting the farm and equestrian centre close by.
- Gain experience in a unique Forest School learning environment.

**About you**
- Knowledge of EYFS.
- Demonstrable experience of working with children between 0-5 years old.
- Be committed to the safeguarding of all children in the nursery and your direct care.
- A team player who demonstrates enthusiasm, is hardworking and committed to a career within childcare with a willingness to learn on the job.
- Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team.
- Values and respects the views and needs of children.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Resilient and able to work well under pressure.
- Willing and committed to working towards Level 3 Early Years qualification.
- It would be desirable to have an up-to-date Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding & Food Hygiene certificate (however, training can be provided.)
- We would also consider individuals from a healthcare/carer background who would be willing to work towards a qualification.
