We require the expertise of a professional with the relevant skills, knowledge, and experience to join us in providing high-quality advice, guidance and support to educational settings and associated professionals, and professional challenge to those facing complex situations.

**Your role**

As an Education Officer, you will
- be at the forefront of providing support and challenge to leadership teams and governors in education settings across all phases, promoting the importance of effective multi-agency working
- contribute to changes in culture, policy, and practice in relation to education, motivating those you work with to commit to successful working practices to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people
- signpost, advise and support education leaders when faced with critical incidents, including times of bereavement
- represent Education, Skills, and Learning at a range of multiagency meetings, providing feedback and updates to a range of officers across CYP
- attend and contribute to a variety of social care-led meetings, following up with education colleagues to ensure appropriate and timely actions have been taken
- work closely with our partners in HR, Finance, Safeguarding, and Health and Safety to ensure educational settings are accessing the support they need to respond effectively to situations support colleagues and partners to meet all statutory requirements and regulations.

**Your responsibilities**

You will:

- provide specialist professional support and guidance on safeguarding, finance, and Human Resources promoting the welfare of children and young people, ensuring best practices and inclusion
- work in line with the current and future Ofsted frameworks for inspection, DfE statutory and non-statutory guidance to schools, settings, and local authorities, and any other relevant policy or legislative requirements
- ensure that resources are managed in line with SCC regulations, policies, and procedures and have regard to best value principles and financial restrictions
- contribute to the timely identification of schools, settings, and providers causing concern, contributing to the collective response to bring about an increased pace of improvement and inclusion contribute to responses to concerns raised by those such as Ofsted, County Councillors, and parents, providing senior managers with the information they require with speed and accuracy.

- experience in effective partnership working across professional boundaries
- a high level of commitment to equality and managing diversity, sensitive to the needs and views of diverse groups and individuals including children and young people
- to be an influential and effective practitioner in relevant fields, with an ability to engage, challenge, confront persuade and influence as required
- good knowledge of universal services within education but particularly finance, Human Resources, and safeguarding
- expertise in safeguarding, finance, and human resources
- to communicate effectively and to a high standard in both written and verbal form
- to be solution focused, work independently, and use your initiative to move complex situations forwards in a timely manner.
