**The Role**

Health Physics Monitors are a crucial part of all the site work that takes places in nuclear environments. You will learn to monitor radiation levels to protect people, plant and the environment from contamination.

You will support in delivering projects involving decommissioning, decontamination and waste management.

You will have to go through vetting which can take some time but whilst you wait you will complete theoretical and practical courses both externally and internally at our state-of-the-art training centre.

You will have the chance to work at sites across the UK, with travel and site allowances paid to ensure you are comfortable wherever you are based.

You will work under supervision and direction of Site Supervisor, Mentor and Radiation Protection Supervisor whilst learning both theoretical and practical elements of Health Physics (HP) and Decommissioning.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- GCSE Maths and English C+ (or equivalent)
- UK Driving Licence
- Well organised with the ability to work to timescales and demonstrate attention to detail
- Routine recording and reporting of information both verbal and numerical
- Familiar with structuring and presentation of own work
- Used to dealing with confidential and commercial information
- Competent user of MS Office
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of colleagues at all levels and with external stakeholders and contractors
