**The Role**

Fresh People are currently recruiting for a Pesticides Compliance Co-ordinator for our Client a Global Fresh Produce Business in Mid Kent, supporting the Senior Technical & Compliance Team within this role you will be responsible for matters relating to product safety, quality and legality across the business.

**The Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the business Pesticide compliance monitoring process; reporting on pesticide compliancy performance weekly for spray records, residue testing and PPPL and highlighting gaps to the Technical team.
- Lead and manage the PPPL (Plant Protection Product List) process including but not limited to; monitoring and tracking the number of client owned and supplier owned PPPLs. Prepare and create on behalf of suppliers on Food Experts and assist suppliers with their own as required. Ensure all are active at the start of supply, shared with the relevant customer(s) and ready for the annual GG audit.
- Lead, manage and trend customer PPP derogations, in line with the requirements outlined in customer controlled PPPL all lists. Ensure that all supplier PPPL derogations are approved ahead of the season starting and ensure all active PPPLs have approved derogations, where applicable for all countries, products and suppliers in current supply.
- Ensure all supplier owned PPPLs are shared with our clients on Food Experts and compliant with customer pesticide policies. Monitor and track PPPL renewal status and communicate to the Compliance Co-ordinators periodically in advance of renewal and the forthcoming supply season.
- Support suppliers to maintain PPPLs and product renewals during the PPPL period of validity. Monitor expired PPPs via Food Experts reporting. Ensure relevant PPP renewals take place within the life of the PPPL to maintain compliancy and in instances where active renewals do not take place communicate with suppliers to advise of restrictions to active use after the expiry date.
- Manage the supplier and customer PPP and PPPL derogation process on Food Experts. Work with suppliers to obtain details required to submit Banned, Monitored, Restricted or Special attention active concessions to customers, ensuring all supporting evidence is collated and reviewed prior to submission to the customer for approval.
- Support the collation of pesticide compliance including spray records and residue analysis from source in line with pesticide risk assessment and customer policies, escalate any potential issues to the Technical Team and liaise directly with suppliers to understand and resolve issues.
- Ensure your knowledge of relevant pesticide legislation and customer pesticide policies is current and represent our client at any industry meetings required to supplement this knowledge, Cascade details of changes to MRL legislation which have potential to impact the supply base. Prepare presentations for customers and our client as required.
- Manage the due diligence process for Group businesses in conjunction with the Technical Managers (TM), ensure that all supplier due diligence (DD) is collated and filed on T drives, client due diligence (Portal) and relevant customer portals prior to supplying into the customer and maintain due diligence throughout supply period.
- Liaise with our Clients Compliance Co-ordinators and/or suppliers to collate accurate and relevant DD information, this may include GG, TN11, pesticide compliance (PPPL, PPU, spray records and source residue analysis), Red Tractor, Select Farm Audit, all relevant ethical requirements (SEDEX, SMETA, SIZA, GRASP, RFA, Stronger Together and SETF participation, accommodation data) our clients COP, Organic certification, environmental certification (LEAF, Spring), packaging due diligence, and audit information.
- Adhere to the compliance DD process, communicating current approval status at each stage, and on weekly basis to the TM, procurement and commercial teams. Raise and escalate any issues that may prohibit supply, and work with suppliers to overcome issues. Review weekly compliancy KPI reporting and work to prioritise and close compliancy gaps on the system, in line with current compliance KPI targets.
- Monitor DD throughout the supply period and investigate any incidences of non-compliancy near misses and unapproved grower arrivals, in conjunction with our Clients TM. Ensure all incidences are captured and recorded in the appropriate tracker.
- Ensure all administration for your categories is complete and up to date for all products and suppliers in supply. Including regularly updating and sharing the category Approved Supplier Lists (and equivalents on our Clients Portal and Foods Connected), maintenance of accurate and current supplier codes and linking within Prophet Sendac table, the TN11 producer confirmation process, Global Gap Bookmarking of suppliers into Tesco and collation of organic COIs in line with UK/EU legislation.
