**Support Worker - 21 hours per week**

**Nottingham**

We are looking for a support worker to work for 21 hours per week. The work hours will be primarily within school hours, over 3-4 days a week, with 1-2 evening shifts of 4 hours each. There might be occasional flexibility required to meet the client's needs.

**Pay rates: £13.00 per hour**

Previous experience in Health and Social Care is ideal; however, it is not essential as full training will be provided. Most importantly, the applicant will require patience and be willing to develop a therapeutic working relationship. The role requires an understanding of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and pathological demand avoidance. The ideal applicant will need to understand the type of support and care required to help the client thrive in their own home and the community. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity, promoting the client’s independence and respecting their home. The applicant must have a good sense of humour and the ability to think on their feet with a practical ‘can do’ attitude towards all aspects of the client’s support needs—the ability to problem solve.

The client's disability is extremely dynamic, which means some days she will require you to complete tasks for me, but on others she will need support to do this independently.
Job requirements
- Organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with the client.
- Support and assistance with cooking, including preparation of meals from fresh ingredients.
- Support and assistance with cleaning, cooking and other household tasks.
- Must have full UK driving licence and access to own car.
- Must be comfortable with and not allergic to dogs as the client has a large working dog training to be an Assistance Dog.
- Taking her to and from dog training (Thursday/Friday evening)

*no dog training experience is needed, as the dogs training is provided by the client and her dog trainers both at her property and in the community; the applicant must be able & willing to support and assist the client with the training in both physically and mentally planning what needs to be carrying out what is being asked by her trainers and helping her to interact when appropriate with others she may meet as a result.
