**Due to continued success and future business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Planner to join our team based at our Northeast head office in Sunderland.**

**The Role**

Joining our team as Regional Planner, you will support the Regional Planning Manager to develop, agree, implement, and deliver the Region’s land acquisition and development requirements through successfully assisting on and gaining planning approvals that meet the Region and Group business plan and future growth requirements.

**Key duties and requirements**

You will also be responsible for but not limited to;
- Administrative support to the regional planning team and where necessary to the Group Planning team.
- Attending weekly Land and Technical meetings and note/minute taking.
- Assist in providing weekly and monthly reporting documents.
- Developing technical, professional, personal and leadership skills as part of your development plan.
- Assisting the Planning Manager to provide operational & tactical planning analysis which present clear and reasoned planning advice and recommendations in terms of potential risks/opportunities and likely planning gain requirements.
- Have excellent report writing skills to prepare persuasive and effective planning documentation.
- Liaison with third party providers.
- Assist with the manager of drafting and completion of all Section 106 Agreements with the Local Authority and our legal teams in accordance with the business operational requirements.
- Monitor both local and national planning policy changes and key planning decisions.
- Any other duties as reasonably required.

**Essential Skills**:
**Who are we looking for?**

To be successful as our Regional Planner, you will be able to evidence your previous success on delivering planning requirements.

To be considered for the role you will currently be working within a Town Planning discipline with a minimum of 2 years’ experience. You will currently be working for either a private sector consultancy, housebuilder, or local authority where you will have gained diverse experience in planning management and securing commercially deliverable planning approvals.

Delivering on excellence and control are key to the success within this role.

To be considered for this role you will also possess;
- A relevant qualification or broad and extensive experience in planning management.
- An excellent track record of successfully delivering planning approvals.
- An in-depth understanding of adopted and emerging local and national planning policy and guidance as well as legal frameworks associated with planning management and development procurement.
- Comprehensive technical and legal knowledge and broad Financial / Commercial awareness that impact on land acquisition and planning matters.
