Aintree Theatres are going through exciting transformational changes to deliver the future of Healthcare Services across Liverpool and we are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual in a newly created Clinical Practice Lead position to support, develop and facilitate clinical practice for practitioners new to the speciality, offering clinical guidance, reassurance and pastoral support.

**The successful individual will**:

- Have significant experience of working within the Orthopaedic Trauma and Emergency setting.
- Have a desire to educate and support clinical teaching utilising a variety of teaching methods.
- H ave excellent communicatio n, organi s ational and leadership skills.
- Be accountable for the day-to-day supervision of practitioners in the speciality lia i sing with the Theatre Manager and Senior Practice Educator to ensur e the delivery of safe, effective clinical care.

Th is role is cl inical within the specialty but has ed ucational and de velopmental responsibilities including, but not limited to, skills training, audit and research.

This post is open to both NMC registered Nurses and HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioners.

To work in collaboration with the Theatre Unit Manager and Senior Practice Educator to identify and facilitate support for staff requiring development within the operating department including training staff in safe scrub skills/technique and theatre etiquette/professionalism.

To collaborate and work in partnership with clinical colleagues to maximise learning opportunities for theatre staff.

To work with and on behalf of the Senior Practice Educator providing support and advice on staff educational and development matters.

To establish robust working relationships with all service users and actively encourage and promote joint working in the pursuit of continuous service improvement.

To adapt and prioritise own workload.

To assist and support the Theatre Unit Manager and Senior Practice Educator in achieving clinical, operational and corporate objectives.

To ensure training and safe use of medical devices within the Theatre department.

To support Trust educational department to provide multi-disciplinary training involving but not limited to Simulation training as required.

Responsibility for ensuring theatre staff are developed to a high standard in clinical practice.

Promote staff and patient safety in theatre.

Provide support to all theatre teams, acting as a professional resource and facilitator for developing, implementing and evaluating programmes of care to ensure clinical effectiveness.

Contribute to developing a culture that promotes equality and values diversity. Foster an environment conducive to learning and development of self and theatre staff.

Responsible for the clinical leadership of theatre teams as required.

To participate in the requirements of the out of hours normal service as required when necessary including weekends and on call duty across a 24 hour service within a range of working environments.
