Join our established and expanding global sourcing team to identify suppliers and establish supply chains needed to meet the needs of our growing business.

**Main Purpose of the Job**

Carry out sourcing tasks and make effective procurement decisions for products, or materials that are required to meet internal and external customer demands.

Work as part of the global Sourcing team to manage and complete tasks arising from new non-stocks sales orders, maintenance of minimum stock levels, internal raw material demands, and other internal consumable/material requirements.

Use sourcing/procurement processes to ensure required materials are in stock at our appropriate global locations within the desired timeframes and meet all required quality standards.

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Conduct sourcing and make effective procurement decisions for chemical products and other materials required to meet sales demands or internal production needs.
- Work as part of the global Sourcing team to monitor and manage workflow from multiple international Biosynth locations.
- Work in accordance with QC/QA processes to ensure products/materials meet required specifications. (Understanding of analytical techniques will be advantageous)
- Answer internal sourcing requests from our sales or production teams and respond with accurate information within agreed timeframes.
- Review global company stock levels and determine appropriate quantities and locations for restocking.
- Active decision making to initiate purchase orders (within authorised spend) and provide all relevant information for our processing team.
- Good supplier management and communication skills to obtain quotations and negotiate pricing or additional requirements of the business.
- Use a variety of internal and external IT resources to identify supplier options. (Knowledge of chemical/pharma industry will be advantageous)
- Ability to quickly and accurately update supplier information within company IT systems.
- Communicate well with other internal teams, in particular Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, all across multiple sites and locations.
- Manage and resolve quality complaints with suppliers when materials do not meet our required specification.

**Requirements**:

- Either previous experience of sourcing/procurement is essential, or experience within the chemical/biotech/pharma industry.
- Experience with SAP is advantageous
- High level of accuracy and efficiency for data management and maintaining information in company IT systems
- Ability to deal with a large product range of differing volumes and types of chemical items
- Ability to prioritize tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate on all levels.
- Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other departments.
- Experience with technical specifications to ensure supplier parameters conform to requirements.
- Knowledge of analytical techniques would be advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
