Support learners during their workplace leading by delivering weekly ‘hive’

meetings and learning opportunities to support their learning and
development.
- Support learners, workplace mentors and assessors at tripartite meetings,

collaborating in the progression of learners and supporting with action plans
where necessary.
- Supporting learners on practice placements.
- Contribute to academic teaching & associated activities (tutorial support,

marking, pastoral care) at the University and in practice settings.
- Uphold and enhance the reputation of the Occupational Therapy suite of

programmes.
- Collaborate with key external partners to develop high quality workplace

learning and practice placement experiences for learners.

Faculty Specific:

- Support innovation and development of placement learning for the

programme through effective communication with Clinical Link Tutors,
practice educators, mentors and assessors, practice placement supervisors
and other external partners hosting student placements.
- Organise regular meetings to support students during workplace learning.
- Meet with Practice Placement Facilitators (PPF’s) and practice/education

leads to maintain and develop the partnership links related to the learner
experience and attainment of practice excellence.
- Act as the academic tutor for practice placement half-way calls and support.
- Co-ordinate and develop learner actions plans, support for referral to

Fitness to Practice and related to student progression
- Contribute to academic teaching & simulation across all the BSc (Hons)

Occupational Therapy programmes
- Contribute to the marking of assignments and OSPA’s and provide

appropriate, timely feedback to learners.
- Contribute to practical skills and mandatory training sessions
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the BSc (Hons) Occupational

Therapy programmes and placement portfolio, ensuring the programme
meets the internal and external quality drivers.
- Provision of high-quality pastoral and academic support to learners
- Actively engage in the marketing and recruitment activities.
- Collaborate with others to develop research opportunities in Occupational

Therapy

included above, consistent with the role

**Circumstances**:
**Achievement of Teaching Qualification and HEA Fellowship**

Lecturers without a teaching qualification and Higher Education Academy
Fellowship status will be expected to achieve both within two years of commencing
their role.

**Academic staff progression from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer**:
There is also an expectation that staff appointed to the Lecturer Role Profile will
have the opportunity to develop the role and take on the duties and responsibilities
of the Senior Lecturer role. The process for progression from the Lecturer to Senior
Lecturer role is outlined in the Academic Staff Progression guidelines document.
