We have approximately 855 beds trust-wide and our financial turnover is in excess of £337m.

The Wirral is easily accessible with excellent transport links including motorway, train, bus or ferry and within easy reach to the major cities of Liverpool, Chester and Manchester as well as neighbouring North Wales.

This would include teaching and training of junior doctors, CPD, audit and governance. In practice this amounts to 0.5 PA a week and the expectation, therefore, is that the routine week will consist of 8 PA’s allocated to direct patient care and 2.0 PA for supporting professional activity.

On call duties involve daytime ward rounds of the respiratory ward. Consultants are expected to take phone calls during the day and evenings, which would attract a 3% uplift. Consultants are very rarely called back to the Trust but are expected to in case of emergencies. Weekend on call work involves daily ward rounds of the 2 respiratory ward areas with experienced ANP support.

Provision to the Trust with other medical colleagues of a service in Respiratory Medicine. There will be responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of patients with Respiratory as well as general medical illnesses.
