Research Assistant

The Institute of Education in Healthcare and Medical Sciences, located within the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition, University of Aberdeen, is one of the UK’s leading centres for medical, medical sciences and dental education. The Institute launched the Centre of Healthcare Education Research and Innovation (CHERI) in May 2017. Led by Dr Anita Laidlaw, CHERI’s vision is to achieve a global reputation for academic excellence in healthcare education research, by supporting high-quality, important research focusing on relevant issues, and developing tomorrow’s researchers.

The overall purpose of this role is to support the NHS Grampian Endowment funded research project examining the benefits and challenges of inter-sector collaboration to enhance the employability of school leavers to enter the health and social care workforce. This research will use a case study approach and is a collaborative project with the Scotland Youth Academy and Education Scotland.

This post is for a fixed term as it is dependent on external funding. As such, the need for the post will cease to exist when funding runs out.

We seek individuals who relish the opportunity to be involved with research within a vibrant teaching and research-led academic unit, the Centre of Healthcare Education Research and Innovation (CHERI).

CHERI provides a stimulating environment for those who are passionate about progressing healthcare education and increasing their knowledge in this field through research and innovation.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 5, £30,619 per annum, pro rata.

This post does not meet the minimum requirements for visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route. We are therefore unable to consider applicants for this post that require sponsorship to work in the UK.
