London, United Kingdom South Thames Colleges Group Full time

Joining us as Head of Apprenticeships, you will oversee the Group Apprenticeship delivery, acting as a central management point, monitoring all aspects of Apprenticeship performance. You will work closely with College delivery leads, Business Development and Management Information Services to ensure Group Apprenticeship quality standards and targets are met.

The Head of Apprenticeships must ensure Regional/National economic needs are met through effective programme design, Apprentice recruitment, high retention and timely achievement, whilst also gaining positive employer satisfaction and ensuring Funding Agency requirements are met. You will ensure the Group is ready to meet the changing needs of the employer landscape, as the Government works to increase Apprenticeship participation.

With experience of significantly improving outcomes for Apprentices, you will have a thorough understanding of the requirements of an Apprenticeship programme and have knowledge of the needs of all Apprentices, including HNS, and be able to demonstrate delivery of a high quality student experience.

Experience as an Ofsted Inspector for Apprenticeship provision is desirable, as is a recognised Assessor qualification such as A1/A2, D32/33 or TAQA.

This position is predominantly based at Merton College but as it is a Group wide post, it will involve travel to other College sites.

South Thames Colleges Group is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 37 days plus a 2 week break over Christmas/New Year as well as an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave to enhance employees’ physical and mental health. There is an excellent pension scheme that receives a significant financial contribution from the employer (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidised sports facilities and professional development and training plus a salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme.

The South Thames Colleges Group is made up of Carshalton College, Kingston College, Merton College and South Thames College, which merged on 1 August 2017.
