Flint, United Kingdom Outcomes First Group Full time

**Everyone deserves an incredible future**

Become a Trainee Children’s Care Worker with Bryn Melyn, part Acorn Education and Care and start working towards yours.

**The opportunity**

This is a role with an exciting career and development plan, structured to ensure our staff are trained, supported, and continually developed. We want to give you the best possible toolkit, to deliver outstanding care and support to our Children and young people and help them achieve incredible outcomes.

There will be a thorough induction, fully expensed training courses, the opportunity to be enrolled on an accredited course and pairing with a buddy, which together will help you expand your knowledge, get qualifications and prepare to become a Qualified Care Worker. It is an incredible opportunity to launch your career and see it flourish.

**Our homes are within commutable distance from Telford, Shrewsbury, Cannock, Market Drayton, Bridgnorth and surrounds.**

**The Role**

Acorn Education and Care work directly with vulnerable children with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and complex needs. You will be patient and compassionate and, most of all, dependable - working hard to forge a much-needed relationship of trust with those in your care.

We are recruiting Trainee Night Children’s Care Workers to join our teams within the Flintshire area. Your empathy and warmth will enable you to support vulnerable children with Autism, Learning Disabilities and complex needs. This means that the Children we care for may need support to develop their day-to-day skills, including communication and practical skills. They may also need support to complete their personal care. That’s why we’re looking for calm, conscientious and kind people who can take care of the daily needs of the children
- vital help that can transform their lives

Nightly tasks involve running night time routines and providing the care and support that the children need to be happy and healthy, but you will also need to complete relevant paperwork, undertake household tasks, personal care and where appropriate administer medication..

Working as part of an incredible team of committed care workers, you will co-operate and share knowledge and learning to the benefit of great care. Excellent communication skills are essential, both in terms of teamwork and - most importantly - as you will be in close contact with the children you care for.

Kindness is key. In this role, a warm smile can make a massive difference.

**Who are we are looking for?**

You don’t need any experience to join our team. If you come from hospitality, the army, outdoor activity centres or an office based job but are eager to help vulnerable children and young people to live happy, fulfilling lives, this is the role for you.

We know that the children and young people in our care can be challenging, and we are looking for Care Workers who are up for that challenge. You will be patient and resilient, and able to recognise the reward in transforming a young person’s life. You will take care of everyday needs, using a calm, reliable approach that builds trust and confidence.

You will be friendly, approachable and kind in your dealings with the children and young people. You will be committed to giving them the space and opportunity to thrive, playing your part in creating a nurturing environment in which they can fulfil their potential.

You will play a key role in the smooth-running of the site, and you will have a good grasp of safety and hygiene, and a conscientious dedication to the young people’s wellbeing. This is a role in which attention to detail really counts - and one that touches the real lives of people every day
