Your role is to engage with young individuals, aged 16 and above, who are under the care of our facilities, with the pivotal goal of enhancing their grasp of independence and promoting a lifestyle centred on well-being.

From imparting culinary skills to providing support for appointments and financial management, your responsibilities will be diverse and tailored to the specific needs of each individual.

At the core of this position is the imperative to provide unwavering support and advocacy for the young individuals within our service. This entails ensuring their safety, addressing their concerns, and consistently facilitating progress towards an improved quality of life. Your role plays a vital part in their successful transition into the demands of post-18 living.

To be considered for this role, prospective employees must:

- Have an advanced understanding of looked-after young people
- Have at least 1-years’ experience of direct-work with at-risk young people
- Be willing to provide a full, enhanced-DBS (paid for by the company)
- Be able to provide two acceptable references, one must be from the most recent employer
- Have completed a Level-3, accredited qualification working with young people, or be willing to work towards this

**Responsibilities**:
**Empowerment through Support**: Become an unwavering pillar of support for young individuals within our growing network of supported living homes. This includes visiting young people in their placement across Worcestershire.

**Fostering Growth**: Expertly design personalized support plans, nurturing crucial well-being, promoting self-reliance, and carefully crafting pathways for individual advancement.

**Advocating Their Needs**: Be the strong advocate for each young person's unique requirements, ensuring their perspectives are heard, and their journey receives nurturing attention.

**Precise Documentation and Collaborations**: Maintain thorough records of progress while seamlessly collaborating with our partners, including the Local Authority, to build a seamless network that magnifies the impact on these young lives.

**Integral Role in Decision-Making**: Make a significant contribution in diverse, multi-disciplinary meetings, where your expertise and insights help plot the most effective path forward, enriching the lives of those entrusted to our care.

**Time Management** Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills as you independently handle your schedule and duties, adeptly managing lone-working responsibilities.

**Adaptability and Dedication**: Embrace occasional overnight stays, late checks, and work flexibility during evenings and weekends as part of a structured 4-week rotating schedule. This showcases your unwavering commitment to the well-being of these young individuals and the operational needs of the service.

A successful Support worker must consistently exhibit an advanced level of comprehension in the following areas:

**Legislation Knowledge**: Proficiency in national, local, and international laws, regulations, and policies related to young people.

**Health and Safety Compliance**: Full awareness of health and safety legislation, ensuring a safe and secure environment for the well-being of young people.

**Safeguarding Expertise**: Comprehensive knowledge of both direct and contextual safeguarding measures, crucial for ensuring the safety and protection of young people in various contexts.
