**The Role - Payroll Advisor**

We are currently looking for an experienced Payroll Advisor to join our People team.

Full job description available on request, but to summarise, the purpose of the role is:

- To work closely with the Payroll Supervisor & Payroll Manager provide a commercially focused and professional payroll service for the Group.
- Ensuring the payroll related legal and statutory obligations are met.
- Responsible for ensuring the monthly payrolls are processed in a timely manner, including amendments, adjustments and salary increases with the required approvals and new starters and leavers are processed correctly.
- Assisting the Payroll Supervisor & Manager on payroll related matters as and when required including reconciliations, reporting, reviewing control and audit procedures.
- Reviewing & responding to technical payroll queries and enquiries via the department inbox from employees, managers or from external parties such as HMRC.
- Creation of the monthly payroll BACs files, reconciling the figures and preparation for submission.
- Passing on your experience and payroll knowledge to provide cover across both business entities to ensure the smooth running of the payroll department.

***Skills needed**:
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Advisor with the following skills, experience and attributes to be successful in this role:

- CIPP qualified (or equivalent) is preferred, but not essential if experience is substantial
- Previous experience of working in a similar fast paced environment in a Payroll role is required
- Excellent communicator, able to provide advice and guidance to managers at all levels of the business using a confident and pragmatic manner both verbally and in written formats.
- Commercially focused, good numerical ability and excellent accuracy and attention to detail with sharp problem solving and analytical skills
- Self motivated and well organised, with excellent time management skills and an ability to work on own initiative, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- High levels of energy and enthusiasm with a tenacious, ‘Can do’ mentality and a high degree of flexibility
- Customer focused team player with a strong passion for people
- Computer literate in all Microsoft packages, including relevant HR packages
- High degree of integrity, ability to work with sensitive data and maintain trust and confidentiality
- Good interpersonal skills, able to adapt manner to deal with employees at all levels including senior management up to board level
