Our customer is a large and successful online retailer and through expansion is looking for an experienced Warehouse Controller to join the team and take ownership of the day-to-day operation and management of goods in, warehouse and goods out areas.

In this varied, hands-on role you will be responsible for planning, organising, and supervising the operations and activities of the Warehouse including undertaking training, monitoring performance, identifying problems as well as ensuring that all operations are undertaken in a safe manner.

**Warehouse Controller - up to £28k, full time permanent - HU8 Area**

This role would ideally suit an experienced Warehouse Controller or senior Supervisor who is looking for a move in to a more managerial post, that can demonstrate a sound approach to decision making, strong people management skills and a high level of awareness around warehouse operations and safety.

**About the role**
- Plan, organise, supervise and participate in daily warehouse operations and activities, including the receipt, documentation, storage, safety, security, and maintenance of inventory.
- Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of warehouse colleagues; assign workloads accordingly and distribute available resource throughout other business functions where practicable.
- Prepare and maintain a variety of records and logs and prepare reports as required, maintain inventory of items in the warehouse
- Maintain warehouse in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
- Assist management in establishing warehouse standards and procedures.
- Implement new methods, processes, and improvements.
- Measure and address the effectiveness of employee performance and warehousing activities.
- Work closely with the Purchasing Department to ensure maximum availability whilst assisting in the control of stock budgets.
- Work with Management Teams to observe disciplinary issues, attendance, and performance of direct reports.
- Consult and organise activities with other Teams and Departments.
- Observe health and safety regulations throughout all business functions ensuring that compliance is maintained at all times.
- Key Holder.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Experience and Qualifications**
- Warehouse Supervisory / management experience.
- Previous experience of leading and managing others.
- The ability to implement Team work and encourage collaboration throughout all business functions.
- Experience of performance management and people development techniques.
- Knowledge of budgeting and cost control.
- Use of SAGE.
- Management qualification, Level 3 or above (Desirable).
- IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate (Desirable).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
