We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us at Tunstall as an **Autos SMT (Surface Mount Technician) Operator**. This role will be based out of our manufacturing facility in Whitley (West Yorkshire).

**Main Purpose of Role**:
Our manufacturing team is responsible for producing a range of products in a timely manner, as per the manufacturing plan, to all our UK customers, as well as worldwide. As an Autos SMT Operator at Tunstall, you would be helping to ensure the surface mount assembly line is set up and run efficiently and help ensure our products are built to the latest documentation and quality standards.

**Your day-to-day responsibilities will include**:

- To ensure product is built to latest documentation and quality standards; achieve the Manufacturing set KPIs.
- Ensure the surface mount assembly line is set up and run efficiently and in accordance with all procedures.
- Set up and run the line by themselves and often without supervision.
- Ensure the production plan is met in full and on time.
- Ensure all quality and workmanship standards are maintained.
- Ensure all documentation/paperwork/data collection systems are filled in correctly and on time.
- Communicate effectively with all other team members.
- Ensure a smooth handover from one shift to the next.
- Engage in 5S activities to maintain a clean, organised and safe environment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations/requirements.
- Look for continuous improvement in all processes.
- Assist in maintenance activities.

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**:

- Excellent communication skills,
- Role is predominantly shift based and you will need to be flexible and able to adapt to changing shift patterns, sometimes at short notice,
- You must be adaptable and happy to help, as you may need to work in other areas of manufacturing depending on production demands,
- Able to follow instructions, and operate to a high degree of accuracy & quality standards, which will be measured by downstream inspection and test operations.
