Homeless Pathway Coordinator

**Hours: 25 hours per week. **The hours will be between 8:15am - 8:45am on a rota basis, and may be across Monday to Sunday. You may also be required to do the occasional sleeping shift.
We are looking for a motivated, trustworthy individual to join our team at Corby Homeless Project. The aim of the project is to reduce rough sleeping and to move individuals on into more permanent accommodation. Working with our residents requires creativity, skilled delivery of interventions and a passion for working with those who are/have face multiple disadvantages in society. The role of a Homeless Pathway Coordinator combined with the provision of a home and great people to help and support through individually tailored support plans, will enable our residents to achieve a successful sustainable life and accommodation in the future.
The aim of the coordinator is to empower residents to successfully manage their development plans. This will be achieved by engaging with our residents in such a way that they can develop resourceful strategies and learn skills that will enable them to achieve their objectives. Working as part of a team and joint working with other services, the role will support in delivering the highest possible level of support to our residents.
This role will be integral to both the resident’s journey with us and also to the smooth running of the project. As Homeless Pathway Coordinator, you will be supporting residents to overcome any barriers they face in achieving their goals. To achieve this, you will need to be confident and competent in working with external agencies using effective advocacy skills resulting in improved engagement and outcomes for our residents.
The role works alongside another team member who supports our residents with developing their essential skills in providing themselves with knowledge about home economic around food and nutrition while working within a limited budget, the importance of hygiene in a home, and general home management.
This role may also require occasionally working outside of regular working hours / unsociable hours, providing cover as appropriate to ensure the project is always staffed and may occasionally include travel across the county.
The most important qualities we are looking for is someone who is passionate, empathetic and dedicated to helping those who are vulnerable or disadvantaged.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Support to build skills to assist in maintaining a tenancy (e.g. paying bills, budgeting, debt management)
- Provide support to secure accommodation, working with different organisations and the resident.
- Support with content, updates and replies on relevant social media
- Identify resident’s objectives create a person-centered plan and person centred objectives for the residents
- Support residents in the immediate period once they leave the project.
- Support with resourcing of the project such as collecting donations, following up enquiries ,engaging residents in supporting with cleaning, donations and general operations
- Facilitate and attend house meetings with residents
- Support induction of new residents.
- Support new team members (including staff and volunteers) as a peer.
- Ensure relevant paperwork and the client database is up to date, such as paperwork and updating database, answering the phone, general office tasks.
- Implement processes in adequate timeframe as per the policy and procedure, such as reporting repairs, completing incident reports
- To work within and support implementation of all policies and procedures.
- Maintain the database in liaison with the other staff for all clients, including those who are not directly using the services provided.
- Support with events and engaging other potential supporters and partners.
- To ensure that all residents and clients are treated with respect and supported to enable them to move into permanent accommodation.
- To attend meetings and training as required.
- To work closely with other staff, volunteers and across other projects for best practice.

**Person Specification**
**Essential Criteria**
- Experience of working with vulnerable adults and/or challenging behaviours
- Experience of working or having lived experience with those experiencing homelessness, and/or with drug and alcohol abuse or mental health problems
- Experience of liaising with other organisations and partners
- Knowledge and understanding of the issues facing those who are homeless, have addictions or are disadvantaged
- Ability to produce reports, maintain accurate records and collate data
- Knowledge of the barriers and challenges to maintaining housing
- Ability to be compassionately assertive
