Shrewsbury, United Kingdom Family Care Group Full time

Are you someone who finds fulfillment in making a positive impact on the lives of young individuals? Is your passion centered around working with children? If so, a rewarding career as a **Residential Childcare Worker** awaits you within the **Family Care Group**.

You might be wondering about the day-to-day experiences of a Residential Childcare Worker. Typically, each day begins like any other, within a household environment. Your role involves assisting young individuals in getting ready for the day ahead - whether it's preparing for school or gearing up for an exciting weekend.

Your support extends to various aspects of the young individuals' self-care journey, fostering their independence by enhancing existing life skills and introducing new ones. Empowering them with choices in their lives, whenever feasible, is a priority. From deciding their lunch preferences to choosing their desired activities, they are given the autonomy to make decisions.

In your daily routine, you'll help the young individuals attend school, maintain contact with their families, accompany them to appointments, and organize recreational activities. Additionally, you'll facilitate annual vacations to diverse locations, both domestic and international.

Your role involves forming significant, positive relationships with both the young individuals and their families. Collaborating closely with your team and other professionals involved in each individual's life is crucial. Following the **Therapeutic Model** implemented in each home, you'll partner with company therapists to ensure the well-being and growth of each young person.

As evident, every day presents new challenges and experiences. While there might be tough moments demanding **teamwork** and perhaps a bit of caffeine to power through long shifts, witnessing a young person's smile upon achieving milestones or personal victories is truly invaluable.
