**Job Title: Bus Schedules Compiler**
**Location: Chiswick, London**
Our client, a leading transportation company operating bus networks in west and north London, is seeking a skilled Schedules Compiler to join their team. With a strong commitment to delivering exceptional services to millions of passengers each year, our client offers a dynamic and rewarding work environment. This role is based in Chiswick and you'd be required to be in the office 4 days per week.
**Responsibilities and Activities**:
As a Schedules Compiler, you will play a vital role in compiling efficient and effective time and duty schedules, taking into account reliability, acceptability, and cost considerations. Your ability to meet deadlines and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders will be key to your success. While most of your work will be conducted during standard office hours, occasional flexibility may be required, including travel within the London area for service evaluation and meetings.
**Job Details**:
To excel in this role, you will:
- Maintain a full knowledge of current Operating and Scheduling Agreements for each operating unit, as well as relevant regulations.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of the company's operating area, including garage and relief point locations.
- Familiarize yourself with the current scheduling software and utilize it to compile accurate Running Time forms.
- Compile efficient time schedules, duty schedules, and formulate rotas in adherence to regulatory requirements and preferences.
- Produce schedules and cost scenarios for day-to-day operations, emergencies, service changes, and future services.
- Assist in the production and administration of data exports to ensure uninterrupted operation of buses.
- Estimate, plan, organize, and track the progress of your work to meet specific task delivery deadlines.
- Represent the Scheduling team at meetings, providing specialized advice on timetabling and operational requirements.
- Make decisions on behalf of the Schedules Managers as required.
- Adhere to and promote health and safety policies and procedures.
**Education and Experience**:
To be considered for this position, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Experience in bus scheduling and timetables is **essential** to be considered for this role
- Understanding of tendering systems and IT packages related to the industry is desirable.Competencies Required:
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Confident in handling and analysing numerical data with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Proactive, dynamic, and able to prioritize workload effectively.
- Discreet and trustworthy, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
