We are recruiting for a Senior Associate to join the supervisory team within the Wholesale Banks Department.

Therefore, we are looking for an individual who has a good understanding of wholesale banks or of wholesale conduct risks and a proven ability to learn quickly in role, who can develop strong relationships with senior management at firms and internally, and who has strong written and verbal communication skills.

Key Roles and Responsibilities- Understanding firms’ business strategies and activities, how they are changing in response to the external environment and what implications these changes have for wholesale conduct risks.- Assertively supervising firms by driving forward the parts of the firm supervisory strategy you are responsible for and identifying and quickly mitigating new and existing crystallised issues.- Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with senior management at firms, internal stakeholders and other regulators.- Briefing senior management, verbally and in writing.- Contributing to sector wide or cross firm supervision, building relationships and developing engagement with other supervision teams- Proactively identifying opportunities to create efficiencies and embedding FCA Transformation in an effective way.- Collaborating inclusively, contributing to an environment where all opinions are listened to and respected and engaging with the FCA Diversity and Inclusion agenda.

Working in Wholesale Banks you will have an opportunity to supervise some of the largest international firms active in the wholesale markets; you will engage closely with firms’ senior management, FCA senior management, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders.

Skills/Experience Required

Minimum- Experience working in either a wholesale financial service environment, legal, consultancy or other regulatory organisation- Experience working in an analytical role- Strong written communication skills & experience of working with stakeholders both externally and internally

Essential- A curious and inquisitive mindset, and an ambition to deliver in the public interest- Evidence of analysing large amounts of complex information, identifying the key themes, drawing logical conclusions and recommending and implementing a strategy and plan of action- Some experience of analysing complex business models and products and/or wholesale conduct risks or evidence through another role you could do this- Working effectively as part of a team by working inclusively, contributing to an environment where all opinions are listened to and respected- Ability to prioritise and work quickly on key tasks- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills: able to build and maintain relationships with senior management at wholesale banks, other regulators and staff including senior staff at the FCA- Ability to work independently, use sound judgement and escalate issues appropriately

Desirable- Good understanding of supervision and the FCA's approach to regulation

The FCA has a national role and is committed to a national footprint. This role can be based in London. Leeds or Edinburgh.

The FCA has London and National Pay ranges to reflect regional differences. The salary for this role will be:
London - up to £70,000
- _salary offered will be based on skills & experience_

National (roles in Leeds & Edinburgh) - up to £63,000
- _salary offered will be based on skills & experience_

The FCA supports hybrid working and you will be expected to work 40% of your time over a month, in our office. We will consider other flexible arrangements, for example part time working, and you can discuss this with the recruiter.
