We provide support and care service too children, young people and their families. We have a number of residential properties in the Derbyshire/ Staffordshire and West Midlands areas.
Our primary focus is to support our children and young people, to give them the best start in life possible, that will carry through the whole of their life.
The Team
We are committed to providing the highest level of care and believe that the team is the core to achieving this. We provide regular training, appraisals and supervision. Time and commitment are given to the development and progression of every individual working as part of the Blossom Care team.
We are opening new homes and genuine internal progression opportunities are available, for all staff to develop their careers in the care sector. We ensure that the team feels valued and individuals are rewarded and recognised for their hard work and dedication to the children and young people in our care, this is done through incentives such as pay increments, celebrations of significant events such as birthdays and team building activities.
Training
We will provide training required for the role including being put through Level 3, 4 or 5 QCF/NVQ Residential Childcare Qualification.

Job description
Responsible for working alongside the Manager of children's residential home. Ensuring that our service users receive the highest standard of support/care appropriate to their individual needs.
Main Duties:
- A genuine empathy for young people, supporting them to achieve their goals and
ambitions
- Build and develop relationships with our young people and encourage them to
participate fully in the opportunities offered within the home
- Plan and participate fully in a working rota, this will include evenings, sleep inns and weekends
- Build strong working relationships with external agencies such as Local Authorities and other Health/Social Care professionals
- Conduct formal key work sessions with young people and produce reports for each session
- Be responsible for the effective Safeguarding of the young people within your care and understand how to raise any concerns
- Support our young people with everyday day tasks such as cooking, cleaning, medical
appointments, meetings etc.
Shift patterns are normally:
1 day on and 2 days off. This will be either be 10 or 11 shifts per month (dependent upon the number of days in the month) + min 6 sleep-ins
An 11-shift month with 8 sleep-ins and 1 bank shift pays £ 33840.00 per year
Overtime is paid after completing 170 working hours in the month, with an additional £3 per hour for overtime hours worked.
We also pay a signing on bonus of £500. This is paid 50% at the end of month 1 and the remainder paid; after successfully passing probationary period. (Note: this amount will be clawed back from earnings if the employee leaves before completing 6-months in the role)
Bank working hours are also available.
Sleeps-ins are paid at £60 per sleep-in
On-Call telephone cover is paid at £35 per night
Ideal experience preferred:
- Experience of working within a children and young adult residential environment
- An understanding of relevant legislation relating to the care of young people
- Experience of working with young people that have social, emotional and/or behavioural
difficulties
Interested applicants should have:
- Full driving license - Ideally
- Own transport - Ideally
- Available to work at least 3 shifts in a week and sleep-ins

**Experience**:
- Team Leading or DM role in Children's Residential Home: 1 year (preferred)
