Canterbury, United Kingdom Longland Farm Full time

We are a small scale, ultra high welfare poultry farm, with seasonal variation of produce. We field rear our birds and hand process the final product. We produce chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys. We have our own hatchery and build all our own poultry housing to a high standard. Our customers choose our produce for its high welfare, outstanding flavour and unique provenance. Due to the increasing demand for ethical and locally sourced produce our business is growing quickly.

We’re a small, hard working team and we are passionate about what we do. We are looking for the right person to join us.

There are physically demanding elements to the role, such as mucking out poultry houses, so you will need to be fit and fairly strong.

Some of the time you will be working on your own, so you will need to be observant and proactive in relation to looking after the birds, as well as able to manage your time.

Some activities have several members of the team working on them, sometimes you will be in charge of those activities.

Quite a lot of the work is outdoors and in all weather.

**Example Daily Jobs**
- Feeding the baby birds and adult birds, taking feed around the field.
- Checking the birds welfare, feeders, drinkers, bedding, housing.

**Other jobs as required, for example**
- Helping with catching up birds
- Helping with plucking and waxing
- Cleaning various farm equipment
- Receiving deliveries
- Repairing chicken houses
- Maintaining the farm equipment in the field

- **Your own reliable vehicle to get to work**

We are looking for someone with the right attitude and capability to do the job to the standard that we do ourselves. We will provide full training to do the job, so previous farm experience is not necessary.
