**The Role**

As our General Support Operative, you will assist with routine maintenance, care of our vehicles and plant equipment, assist our engineers build test facilities and help maintain a safe and secure working environment for all.

Your role is vital to the efficiency, development and progress of our test and evaluation facility. Working with a small team of trial engineers, your contribution will ensure our teams are set up for success. Your proactive approach will reduce the potential for costly breakdowns, ensuring our equipment remains in a clean and serviceable condition, and the resetting of test areas quickly for future testing.

**Responsibilities**

As a General Support Operative, you'll need to:

- carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults
- fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly
- control maintenance tools, stores and equipment
- deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs
- site maintenance keeping the landscape free of obstructions and trial debris
- support the building and deconstruction of trial configurations
- have previous experience working in all weather conditions
- have a positive mental attitude and high motivation to want to succeed
- previous experience working as a labourer, general operative
- aptitude for basic engineering tasks using tools for both wood and metal
- operate plant equipment such as telehandler and forklift truck
- conduct lifting operations moving interlocking concrete blocks
- operate as an individual and within a team displaying positive behaviours in order to achieve positive results and outcomes
- expected to be agile, resourceful and flexible able to adapt to changing priorities as necessary to support our customers.

This role is full time on site at Radnor Range, New Radnor.

**Radnor Range**

Radnor is a UK MoD accredited independent test house for the test and evaluation of weapons, ordnance, munitions and explosives.

Radnor conducts fully instrumented testing of armoured vehicles (civilian and military), armoured materials and fully engineered armoured structures to all international test standards; conduct Insensitive Munition trials, UN Series Testing and instrumented weapons and vehicle mounted weapons proofing. Radnor has its own explosive manufacturing, processing and pressing facilities, and the range also supports the flying of drones and counter-drone activity.

**Essential experience**
- Must have a UK Driving licence
- You must be able to attain UKSV SC clearance
- Good standard of literacy, numeracy and IT (MS Office)
- Operating telehandlers and/or forklift trucks
- Safe lifting operations (LOLER)

**Desirable Requirements**
- Practical engineering experience (mechanical/electrical)
- MoD or industrial work experience
- Practical abilities including but not limited to the use of hand tools, basic woodworking and metal fabrication equipment
- Health & Safety training - IOSH Managing Safely
- Control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH)
