**SUPERVISOR JOB DESCRIPTION**

RESPONSIBLE TO: Managing Director

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Registered Manager and Service Provider

RESPONSIBLE FOR: All aspects of care and support management in the designated areas given, to support the registered manager and line managers with field quality assurance, supervisions and appraisals. The supervisor will support within the office with duties such as inputting data onto the company’s data base, keep records up to date and give support with any other office duties that are required.

Hours: To work up to 20/30 hours a week, (more hours maybe required to work this will be at the registered manager’s discretion if necessary). The supervisor may also be required to work on patch if required. The supervisor will be required to also supervise on weekdays, weekends, out of normal working office hours and bank holidays. The supervisor will also be required to wear a blue uniform when conducting their supervisory role; the supervisor must wear their identification badge at all times.

Areas we cover are: Stanningley, Pudsey, Farsley and Armley, Cleckheaton, Liversedge, Thornhill and Mirfield.

Requirements & Key Competencies:

- To support the registered manager in all aspects of care management in the designated areas given.
- To maintain accurate records for all homecare support workers, service users, clients and other healthcare professionals. Record and document relevant details of all service users, clients and also all homecare support workers according to Kalcrest Care policies and procedures, keep all records updated using computer and manual systems.
- Observe legislative requirements according to the working time regulations.
- To support the registered manager and the line managers in the accurate and appropriate matching of homecare support workers to service users and clients.
- Become competent in all areas of office management with exceptions only at the registered managers discretion.
- To support with problems that may arise between any homecare support workers service users, clients and their representatives effectively on a daily basis.
- Observe Kalcrest Care policies and procedures in relation to issues surrounding confidentiality and the general data protection regulations and the data protection act 1998.
- Communicate and liaise with all office personnel, social workers, district nurse’s, general practitioners, service users, clients, their representatives, work colleagues and any other healthcare professionals and stake holders that are involved with that particular individual.
- To be able to create and maintain administrative systems.
- To review and update care plans and ensure that all information has been updated to CARAS.
- Update rotas as and when required.
- Carry out service user reviews as and when required.
- Complete direct observations/spot checks/medication competency on staff in the community.
- Complete vulnerable checks on the service users that have been identified as potentially at risk.
- To fully operate the out of hours service phones at weekends and weekdays when asked to do so.
- To undertake all relevant care and support planning and risk assessments as required.
- To support the registered manager in all relevant training for new recruits, such as shadowing and quality assurance, i.e. spot checks, supervisions and appraisals. This will include during working hours, out of hours, weekends and bank holidays.
- To report back to the registered manager and the line managers on a daily basis with any issues or concerns that need addressing.
- To undertake any other duties relevant to the post including working within the office when required.
- Provide care and support to service users in the community as and when required within contracted hours.
- To be able to work under pressure.
- To work as a team and as a lone worker.

**Salary**: £12.00 per hour
