**Temporary PT Legal Officer /Administrator - Property**
**Reference no: Bradford 5230068**
**Pay Rate: £13.19 per hour PAYE**
**This opening assignment is for 2-3 months **The purpose of the role is to assist the Team Leader in the provision of high-quality professional services particularly in areas in connection with Conveyancing transactions from initial instruction to completion including a proportion of complex, high value or sensitive matters and to provide legal advice to other officers of the Council and elected members of the Council on all aspect of the law relating to Real Property.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Compulsory purchase orders; and preparation liaison and completion of expert reports and other work for Land Tribunals and CPO inquiries.
- Any other property related transaction allotted to the Property and Commercial Team.
- Provide advice and guidance to other officers of the Council and elected members of the Council on all aspects of law relating to Real Property including landlord and tenants issues and CPO’s.
- Postholder will be expected to carry out a proportion of the complex high value or sensitive work referred to the Team.
- Undertake complex legal research.
- Assist in the future development of the quality systems (including auditing) for the Property and Commercial Team and legal section generally and as appropriate carry out duties in accordance with the stated or implied requirements of these systems.
- Carry out any other duties as required, which are reasonable in terms of the nature and level of the post.

**Qualifications**:
- Part 1 of the Institute of Legal Executives or equivalent.
**Skills & Experience.**
- At least 3 years’ experience in a solicitor’s office dealing with property and conveyancing cases.
- Able to demonstrate excellent written skills, write reports and draft documents in a logical and accurate manner.
- Ability to carry out legal research and keep up to date with developments in relevant legislation and guidance
- Able to use sensitivity and discretion when dealing with issues of a confidential nature
- Able to analyse complex problems and information and arrive at solutions
- Ability to plan, prioritise and manage a heavy workload from a variety of sources while maintaining a high standard of quality and working under time constraints.
- Able to deal with internal and external customers both face to face and over the telephone.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
