Health and Safety Advisor - civil engineering/rail - Cannock/Staffordshire - 3-6 month contract - inside IR35

This is to cover a period of Long term Sick and to support/facilitate the potential of a return to work process so will be provisionally for 3-6 months.

This position is to be based in the Midlands area with main office being Cannock
- This role will be site based.

**Responsibilities**:
Support the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager in their role.
Understand the Company Health & Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures and statutory requirements as they affect the Framework operations and ensure that the requirements are implemented.
Assist in providing operational and functional management with advice on the prevention of accidents, ill health, environmental incidents and the practical implementation of the company’s SHE policies.
Assist in providing operational and functional management with advice for obtaining legal consents, licences and exemptions such as discharge consents, abstraction licences and waste management licences.
Assist the Framework H&S Manager and E Manager in preparing and developing the Framework Health, Safety and Environmental Management Plan / Construction Phase Plan (CPP) / Environment Management Plan (EMP) & coordinator reviews.
Undertake site SHE inspections as directed.
Assist where necessary with tenders
When directed, assist with the preparation of SHE risk assessments and Method Statements, Work Package Plans (WPP’s) and Task Briefing Sheets (TBS)
Assist with the monitoring and reporting of Framework SHE Performance as directed.
Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses and other incidents as directed.
Assist in the preparation and implementation of SHE training courses, as directed.
- Specific Skills and/or Experience
- PTS
- NEBOSH construction
- Rail experience
- Ability to drive and work a mixture of shifts to cover office and possession based projects
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an advisors role.
