**The Role**

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Clacton County High School for the position of Lead Practitioner of Maths working with an excellent team of colleagues within our Maths faculty.

Clacton County High School is part of the Sigma Trust and works closely in collaboration with the other schools within our trust family. As a result, we are innovative and always learning from each other to ensure that we deliver an exciting and progressive learning experience for our students.

Our school has its own sixth form college, Sigma Sixth, with a campus in Tendring located within a few minutes’ drive from the school. Although, based at a different site it is very much part of the mainstream school.

The role of the new Lead Practitioner will be dedicated to developing and progressing Teaching & Learning across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if appropriate) and improving outcomes.

Without doubt, this is an exceptionally exciting time to join our staff, the school is expanding and we have a new main school building housing six brand new classrooms and a 4-court sports hall. The sixth form college has recently been refurbished and both sites have excellent facilities, however we are continually developing to accommodate and support the changing needs of the young people of this area.

- To be an outstanding classroom teacher with an ability to achieve outstanding results.
- To have in-depth knowledge of recent academic research in teaching and learning.
- To have the skills and enthusiasm to make a significant contribution to our commitment to continued improvements in evidence-based teaching and learning strategies.
- To work with the leadership team to develop appropriate CPD strategies to enable teaching within the Faculty to become consistently excellent.
- Model outstanding, innovative and evidence-based pedagogical practice.
- Develop and implement teaching and learning strategies throughout the faculty which raise the quality of teaching and learning of all staff and therefore raise student standards and progress.
