Bricklaying Working Supervisor

The role will entail undertaking bricklaying work. In charge of day-to-day brick/block laying operations on site, including the supervision of all CHAP and sub-contract personnel and ensuring health & safety processes are implemented. Also responsible for training of assigned personnel including apprentices.

**Main Tasks**
- Ensure the site/work zone is safely and correctly set up prior to the commencement of work on a daily basis.
- Carry out bricklaying work to the required quality standard.
- Supervise assigned personnel on site (eg bricklayers, apprentice bricklayers, CE Operatives, subcontractors/agency personnel where assigned by site manager to their control).
- Train and mentor assigned personnel on site eg apprentice bricklayers.
- Undertake administration duties eg materials ordering, timesheets, job sheets. Assist the site manager with material call off to ensure operational availability.
- Organise subcontractors (self employed brick/block installers) etc. to be on site when required and liaise with them regarding work.
- Ensure quality control of all bricklaying work carried out on site.
- Ensure health and safety requirements are maintained in the work zone and where appropriate the designated site.
- Carry out/write/review/update task specific brick/ block risk assessments for each site.
- Undertake tool box talks and site inductions when deputising for the site manager.
- Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably requested by management.

**Essential Qualifications**
- Recognised Craft Apprenticeship in Bricklaying
- Driving license
- CSCS Card

**Essential Competencies**
- Fully experienced brick/block layer able to work to high standards within a range of commercial and housing construction projects/sites.
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with a range of personnel.
- Ability and manner to supervise, motivate and train/mentor assigned personnel.
- Competent in undertaking administration tasks of the role.
- Well organised and able to maintain a safe and tidy work environment to maximise productivity.
- Demonstrate ability to produce high quality work and to work under pressure.
