Birmingham, United Kingdom The Range Security Operations Centre Full time

Do you have store detective or security experience? That’s great But at The Range we firmly believe you don’t need experience to be good in this role. Surprisingly, some of the best and most successful members of our team have absolutely no background in loss prevention, security or even retail before they joined us. A major benefit of working directly for The Range Loss Prevention Team is you don’t need an SIA licence as you work ‘in-house’.
Working in loss prevention, our core values are honesty, integrity, and professionalism, if you share these values and can also bring enthusiasm, people skills and a willingness to learn then in return we will provide you with initial training, a competitive salary, flexible shifts, a range of benefits, on-going training, coaching and support in your journey to be the best store detective with the fastest growing retailer in the UK
So, what does a store detective do? As a member of the loss prevention team you may be live monitoring our state of the art CCTV which gives you a crystal clear ‘birds eye’ view of the entire store, you may be on the shop floor blending in as just another ‘customer’ looking for dishonest behaviour, you could be reviewing the security tagging requirements alongside the management team, you may choose to help train the store team on best loss prevention practices or even working alongside your team leader & area manager to support them during investigations.
No two days are the same and situations or incidents will occur which require split second decisions. At all times you need to be able to remain calm, professional and ensure everyone’s safety, no matter what.
After your initial training, your team leader and area manager will make regular visits, work alongside you delivering on-going training and continue to support you in whatever path you would like your career to take within The Range.
