Finance Assistant
Malvern (with some home working)
Hours: 25 per week
Are you looking for a varied and fast paced finance position with the ability to have hybrid working?
Your role will include a wide range of Finance Operation processes using accounting software packages, including pay runs, purchase ledger, sales ledger, answering queries and resolving financial issues and contributing to reporting requirements.
As a relatively small not-for-profit organisation which is soon to become Charity, this job is not a routine finance assistant role and would suit someone who is looking for a varied role, who is comfortable with complexity and able to work collaboratively within a small team to manage the organisation's finances.
Duties and responsibilities include...
Assisting in maintaining purchase ledger
Assisting in maintaining sales ledger:
Assisting with payment runs
Paying expenses to foster carers and staff:
Assisting with monthly staff payroll:
Ensure that all transactions are recorded accurately and assigned to the correct account codes on Quickbooks / Xero.
Ensure that all transactions are processed and recorded promptly.
Processing documentation.
Dealing with enquiries and queries
Experience required...
Accounting qualification e.g. AAT Level 2 or equivalent (desireable)
At least 2 years' experience, working within a Finance Department
Proven work experience as a Finance Assistant or similar role
Experience using financial software
Intermediate MS Excel skills
Skills required...
Excellent communication skills both written and oral
Ability to handle complex issues
Financial, analytical and numerical skills
Knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
