An excellent opportunity has arisen to come and be part of our dynamic Speech and Language therapy team at Berkshire Healthcare Trust.

**Introduction to the Trust, Ward & Team**:
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are currently seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to provide a high-quality service of therapy care to children and young people including those with complex needs.

In this role you will be working as an autonomous clinician to support the delivery of the new CYPF model, taking responsibility for your own caseload within a range of different settings, such as clinics, schools, or homes. You will be assessing the needs of children and young people to provide high-quality reports and therapy plans, as well as advising and training staff and parents/carers to help with patients care. You will often be working in an autonomous capacity so will be expected to look after your own caseload and generate appropriate strategies for the best outcome for patient care.

**Responsibilities**:

- To have highly developed specialist knowledge, experience and expertise in the specific clinical specialism area of autistic spectrum disorder diagnosis.
- To be a source of expertise for the defined area of specialism and be able to support and develop colleagues working in the field and be a point of reference for colleagues and managers where advice may be requested/needed.
- To undertake specialist clinical assessment and treatment of children and young people (CYPF) within the speciality who may have complex presentations and/or support other clinicians to do this.
- To contribute to the development of service provision within their area of specialism alongside the CYPF operational team leads and professional leads. This includes ensuring best practice across the area of speciality and the service within CYPF.
- To lead the development of other therapists within the defined specialist area offering support, mentoring, training and specialist advice, as well as defining core competencies for staff to work towards.
- To undertake clinical audits and research within specialist area as required.
- Current relevant professional registration (HCPC Registration)
- Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience
- Enhanced DBS
- ADOS Training
- Experience of working within the NHS and in a community setting
- Experience of Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy
- Full UK driving license and access to your own car for work purposes
- Knowledge of IT and RiO
