An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Suffolk County Council (SCC) Inclusion Service as a Provision Liaison Officer, working from Endeavour House, Ipswich.

**Your role and **responsibilities**

You will work with a team that is committed and passionate about supporting children and young people to re-engage with school and supporting their families to achieve this aim. The team will provide a collaborative and positive environment that will enable you to contribute to the well-being of families under strain.

You will:

- liaise with Suffolk Inclusion, Specialist Education Services, and schools to identify appropriate children/families
- co-produce a Personal Development Plan (PDP) with young people and families detailing aims and coping mechanisms for school life. Participants will record their progress/achievement towards PDP goals each session
- liaise with respite services to determine compatible groups and source/establish appropriate respite activity sessions
- ensure that more parents/carers are benefitting from a regular, planned break from caring
- provide ongoing communication between families, schools and respite providers ensuring focus on school re-engagement.
- line manage staff
- negotiate and facilitate with a range of providers, meaningful activities for children and young people to build their confidence and form new friendships
- enable the development of coping strategies and re-engagement with school

**The team**

This team is to deliver a Department for Education-funded project to support activities that will enable children and young people (CYP) who are struggling to access full-time education to increase their participation. The team will work alongside services within inclusion to identify CYP whose attendance is affected by barriers caused by social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Once identified the team will seek to work with schools and settings to facilitate opportunities for these CYP to engage in community and interest activities to lead to improve attendance in education.
