Job Purpose:
To carry out general Groundwork tasks, assisting the team to keep to programme
Scope:
This is an active role working on hi-end residential homes in Lancashire. There will be the necessity to traverse the site across and around excavations and rubble and work during inclement weather should the need arise. There will, at times, be the necessity to access scaffolding by means of a ladder and work on the scaffolding, or from the ladder.
Key Responsibilities:
A Groundworkers duties encompass many aspects during the building process - responsibilities include:
- Setting up site including barriers, safety signage and huts/small work buildings.
- Using equipment and tools effectively to perform construction tasks.
- Removing and installing drainage and pipework systems.
- Laying kerbs and driveways.
- Interpreting drawings and technical specifications.
- Following technical specifications and plans to perform Groundwork tasks.
- Preparing the ground and foundations in preparation for other construction work to begin.
- Digging trenches and moving ground.
- Following relevant health and safety procedures and risk management.
- Operating plant machinery and vehicles such as Excavators and Forward Tipping Dumpers..
Adapting to a variety of tasks which could include maintaining general cleanliness across sites and other general duties as required in order to assist any of the various trades on site.
Comply with responsibilities as laid down in the Group’s Health, Safety & Environment Policy and as explained in Site Health and Safety rules/procedures.
At all times comply with company policies, procedures and instructions.
Contribute to improving the business, protecting and enhancing the reputation of the company, by putting forward new ideas and, when requested to do so, implementing change.
**Requirements**:
preferred: Hold CSCS card.
Min 3 years' experience in a similar Construction role.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Must be flexible in hours of work and travel.
Hold a Full UK Driving Licence & access to vehicle.
**Salary**: Up to £19 per hour - depending on experience
Immediate start
