**Are you looking for an Accounts Semi-Senior role with a well-established boutique accountancy practice?**Our client is a friendly, family-owned firm on the outskirts of Chertsey, with a diverse portfolio of clients that will offer a varied workload within all aspects of accountancy.

The firm enjoys high staff retention, and this role is available due to continued growth. You will join a team where you will be supported in your training and learning, being mentored by qualified staff, whilst you progress towards your own qualification.

This could be a Trainee or Semi-Senior position, with a salary depending upon experience, and a full study package will be available, if desired. Either way, some previous experience gained within practice is required and you will benefit from ongoing supportand guidance.

You will benefit from having exposure to a range of clients across various sectors and will gain experience across the spectrum of accountancy services, ie accounts preparation, bookkeeping, VAT, corporation and personal tax, payroll and if desired, audit.

**As Accounts Semi-Senior (or Trainee Accountant) you will carry out (or work towards carrying out) the following duties**:

- The preparation of business accounts for sole-traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Providing clients with bookkeeping advice and assistance
- Assisting on statutory audit work, if desired
- Work towards becoming the first point of contact for your clients and building your own client relationships
- Occasional visits to client sites as required
- Personal and corporate tax work, including giving tax advice to certain clients
- VAT
- Mentoring and teaching a trainee college-leaver as your experience grows

**To be considered for this role, you will have the following skills, experience and attributes**:

- A minimum of two years’ experience in accountancy practice as Accounts Semi-Senior, however, less experience would be considered as Trainee
- Confident using the advanced features of Microsoft Excel to prepare a range of spreadsheets in a highly accurate and efficient manner with exposure to Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write a professional letter quickly, accurately and to a high standard and the confidence to communicate with clients, by telephone and in person, in a clear and professional manner
- You will have your own means of transport and be happy travelling to client’s premises from time to time
- Good IT skills; previous experience working with Iris accountancy software is desirable, but not essential
