On behalf of our client we are recruiting for a **Band E Court of Protection and Appointee Services Manager** to provide support for the Adult Social Care Payment and Billing Team. Experience of working in a professional environment in a customerfacing position will be critical for this role.

**Role Purpose**
- To manage the property and financial affairs of a number of vulnerable adults living in Solihull who lack the mental capacity to manage their own finances through an appointeeship granted by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) or a deputyship grantedby the Court of Protection (CoP)
- To provide support to the ASC Finance team on appointee and deputyship issues, including the completion of any financial and performance information required to support the management of the service.

**Role Responsibilities**

The workplan for the role will be agreed with the Team Manager and will focus on the delivery of quality accountancy services to customers, officers and members, covering the following areas:

- Submit completed referrals to the relevant body, and follow up progress as necessary
- Liaise as appropriate with other parties if deputyships are transferred or client regains capacity.
- Liaise with executors of estates
- Ensure deputyship client assets (cash, pensions etc.) are safeguarded once deputyship is granted
- Manage the receipt of all cash and other funds for client and collection of benefits, pensions income etc. for coding to SMBC’s balance sheet
- Ensure client financial records are effectively maintained, and complete and promptly submit annual returns required for each deputyship client by the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG)
- Process, and manage appropriately, the payment of costs, allowances and care contributions for clients, from client funds - reimbursing ASC care budgets from backdated amounts, if required.
- Order goods for delivery directly to the client, as appropriate
- Investigate and respond promptly to any queries around client financial affairs
- Ensure appropriate appointee and deputyship fees are calculated and collected
- Support social work teams on the completion of client budget plans, and ensure these are updated annually
- Manage the panel deputy referral process, for clients
- Maintain the database, and the records held within
- Provide performance information for appointee and deputyship client caseloads, for inclusion in the monthly ASC department leadership team performance pack
- Maintain the necessary policies, procedures, flowcharts and training materials on appointee and deputyship areas
- Respond to supervision requests and any other information queries
- Support as required any project work
