Slitter Operator

Situated on the Rotherwas Industrial Estate in Hereford, we employ over 95 members of staff and currently operate four slitters and five printing presses as well as six extruders.

There is a vacancy in our factory for a Slitter Operator. Reporting to the Print Foreman, the role will entail working as part of a team to ensure products leaving our site are of the highest standard and meet customer requirements.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Operating one of four high speed slitting machines
- Reading works orders and production schedules
- Challenging machine speeds and monitoring scrap levels and set-up’s
- Highlighting any QC issues to the Production Manager
- Ensuring all paperwork is kept up to date and products are labelled up correctly
- Ensuring all standard operating procedures are adhered to and reporting any safety incidents
- Completing daily inspections of your machine and reporting any potential maintenance issues to the Maintenance Department
- Manual handling
- Ensuring effective shift handover is carried out
**What we are looking for**:

- Previous experience of operating a slitting machine or working within the industry is preferable but full training will be provided
- Excellent communication & numerical skills
- Ability to use own initiative & good organisational skills
- Ability to manage and deal with change in a fast moving and demanding environment whilst still maintaining standards set within the business
- Good attendance and time-keeping
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office would be beneficial
- A full UK driving licence and a valid FLT counter balance certificate is preferable
**Job type**: Full time, permanent, averaging 42 hours per week with the option of overtime

**Hours**: 12 hour continental shift patterns (4 on, 4 off), starting at 6.30am/6.30pm

**Location**: Hereford, HR2
