Apprentice Development Engineer

A leading designer and developer of high precision measurement devices used on major civil construction, mining, and resources projects is looking for a talented Apprentice Development Engineer to join their team in East Sussex on a hybrid working basis.

You will work with component suppliers, manufacturing contractors, and end users. The role will include hands-on experience in design, testing and manufacturing, along with conducting field trials on major UK infrastructure projects.

The role is full time, contract (42 months).

**About the Company**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Drafting 3D CAD models for prototyping
- Building test equipment and setting up long term tests
- Working with manufacturing contractors to develop and document manufacturing processes
- Facilitating quality control, including developing and conducting inspection and test plans
- Inventory management
- Maintenance and general upkeep of the workshop
- Attendance on major construction sites to facilitate clients and conduct field trials

**Desirable Skills**:

- Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook
- 3D CAD modelling
- Basic understanding of programming concepts
- Organised - can manage their workload and structure their time accordingly
- Reliable & dependable
- Show initiative
- Strong communication skills - verbal and written

**Desirable Experience**:

- Good GCSE results (A-C or equivalent) are desirable
- Full Drivers Licence
- Technology related hobbies, clubs or projects
