**Job description**
We’re looking for someone with a drive for continuous improvement and with expertise in support activity to join our growing Security team within Digital, Data & Technology Services (DDTS)
You’ll lead on Governance for both internal and external stakeholders in relation to Security matters, and ensure important actions are captured and subsequently disseminated after high level meetings. You’ll also balance your time by supporting Central Operational activity, key to improving the way we work and providing a central support pillar to a growing team within Defra.
The role focuses on a combination of secretariat activity, as well as providing support to central operations colleagues on core ongoing operational activities, which include workstreams such as Learning & Development, Finance (monitoring and reporting), Workforce Planning for the Security team, and Business Analysis activities.
The role provides a key support node to Defra group Security teams, as well as the Senior Leadership Team and acts as the governance around high-level Security related meetings, including actions and governance in relation to meetings.

**Responsibilities**
- Managing/arranging Governance meetings - contacting key attendees and speakers, chasing for papers, putting together agenda and circulating papers, adding information to SharePoint.
- Attending meetings, writing minutes and actions, putting these in standard templates, adding to SharePoint, circulating to members, chasing updates on actions.
- Operational Support activity and general Operational administrative activities helping the Central Operations team with both ongoing and new initiatives and supporting the wider Defra group Security team.
- Delivering change and improvement efficiently, adjusting the approach in response to organisational and stakeholder needs.
- Answering queries relating to governance, assisting with the management of SharePoint (Access requests, creating folders), monitoring team mailbox, assisting other teams if they require a minute taker (e.g., cyber team), attending meetings related to Defra networks - e.g., Ethnic minority network)
**Skills and Experience**
- Experience of either secretariat, supportive capability or support function role in some capacity.
- Clear and engaging communicators, effective at engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Can prioritise and manage their time effectively.
- Drive for problem solving and coming up with inventive solutions.
- Experience of Security and/or Resilience within government and/or a large and complex environment.

**Salary**: £30,317.00-£36,606.00 per year
