We have a vacancy for a Medical Secretary to join our friendly and supportive team. We are based in the beautiful market town of Blandford Forum, a short drive from Wimborne, Poole, Dorchester and Bournemouth.

You could be based at any of our three Surgery sites. This role is for 37.5 hours.

If you don’t have a health background don’t worry, we will provide a tailored induction program.

**This post qualifies for entry to the NHS Pension Scheme, which is an excellent workplace pension scheme.**

The primary purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to our doctors. We are looking for someone with excellent written and typing skills, a good communicator, who is confident on the telephone.
- To ensure that letters, minutes and reports are produced in a professional and timely manner for Doctors and Nurses.
- Typing letters from dictation.
- Liaison with hospitals re appointments, waiting times, laboratory results and x-rays.
- To act as liaison between doctors and patients.
- Attend Practice meetings and take minutes when required.
- To be responsible for the opening, stamping and issuing of the post daily. Franking of all letters to take to post box.
- Scanning of letters into computer record.
- Any other tasks that the Practice Manager may ask you to do.
