**About the Role**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Learning Designer to join our team on a Full Time, Permanent basis

The focus of this role will be to design and develop technical training curricula and innovative learning solutions to effectively meet the learning needs of the workforce. You will be responsible for ensuring training content complies with all regulatory requirements and company policies. Alongside this, you will lead in implementing best practices and developing cross functional teams.

**What You'll Do**:

- Partner with internal customer groups to understand the business training goals and timelines for development.
- Analyse training needs associated with the introduction of new equipment, procedures, and technology to ensure the validity of job specific training content.
- Obtain stakeholder approval of content to ensure consistent quality of learning solutions across National Grid.
- Develop exams and evaluations to assess the effectiveness of training and enable continuous improvement.
- Conduct “train the trainer” sessions and other training delivery to ensure instructors can deliver training consistently and effectively.
- Actively research and implement instructional best practices and new learning technology to ensure that effective learning methods are incorporated into National Grid’s programmes.
- Drive innovation in learning design by exploring and incorporating cutting-edge technologies and trends.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools or platforms that enhance the overall learning experience.
- Manage vendor relationships with regards to the design and development of training products to ensure adherence to standards and best outcomes for National Grid.
- Manage client learning requests and monitor progress of all design projects.
- Evaluate and modify existing training programs to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with all regulatory, environmental, safety, and contractual obligations.

**What You'll Have**:

- Relevant technical engineering Electricity Distribution industry experience and knowledge of safety policies, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Professional experience in a corporate learning and development environment.
- Instructional design work including adult learning methodology.
- Utilising a blended learning approach with modern learning technology and best practices.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems such as SAP SuccessFactors.
- Project management experience.
- Previous supervisory experience and/or advanced education are considered a plus.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to successfully prioritise and handle multiple complex tasks and projects.

**Further Information**:

- This role is offered on a Full-Time, Permanent basis
- We are also offering hybrid working in which we envisage you will spend 1 day a week at the Eakring office (NG22 0DA) - with the remainder from home.
