**The Role**

The company has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper/Legal Cashier to join their thriving practice.

You must have at least 4 years’ experience working in legal accounts and you will be used to handling areas such as Payroll, Purchase Ledger, VAT and credit control. You must be a self-motivated Individual who is able to confidently handle a varied workloadwith the minimum of supervision.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Managing and monitoring all office and client account transactions to ensure compliance with SRA Accounts Rules, AML regulations and other regulatory bodies
- Administration and reconciliation of bank accounts, deposit accounts petty cash and client ledgers as appropriate
- Monitoring the client and office bank accounts on a daily basis and ensure all receipts have been correctly processed
- Entering, approving and sending bank payments (CHAPS, BACS, FP and cheque requests) when required to ensure they are administered in a timely and accurate manner
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns and data in accordance with governing timeframes
- Checking and processing of bills, statements, receipts and estate accounts
- Processing expenses
- Managing Purchase Ledger for all client and office funds and ensuring credit terms are met
- General banking
- General postings
- Provide a professional and effective support to all clients (internal and external)
- Ensuring that work is completed on time and in line with business priorities
- Filing
- Ad hoc duties to include, but not exclusively - assisting with various IT work, contract tenders, office purchases.

**Personal Specification**

Education/ Qualification:

- Strong academics including English Language and Maths.

**Experience**:

- At least 4-5 year’s previous experience of a cashiering role in a legal environment
- Knowledge of - solicitors accounting practices, SAR’s, Money Laundering Regulations and GDPR.
- Able to monitor and organise their workload.
- Experience of Case Management Systems - Clio software preferred.
- Experience with Xero
- Direct experience of billing and familiarity with accounts procedures.

**Skills**:

- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- IT literate in MS Office in particular Excel.
- Strong Organisational skills and ability to prioritise.
