We are now recruiting for a Content Specialist to join our Learning & Development team, in a 9 month’s fixed term contract capacity, working part time (21 hours per week) at our Swindon offices located on key transport links in the town centre.

**Role context and purpose**:
The Content Specialist is an integral role within the L&D team which contributes to the key departmental goals as well as the wider business plan. The Content Specialist is responsible for crafting compelling copy for diverse channels, including website content and consumer-facing assets, contributing to the BCS purpose, Making IT Good For Society.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop compelling and accurate content for BCS's website, supporting assets, events, papers as well as other ensuring alignment with the institute's goals and messaging.
- Create consumer-facing assets, including but not limited to brochures, newsletters, papers and social media content, to enhance BCS's presence and communication.
- Maintain consistency in brand messaging, tone, and style across all communication channels.
- Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and BCS initiatives to incorporate relevant content into communications.
- Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to BCS's editorial standards.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of content strategies to support BCS Learning & Development objectives and the wider business plan.

**Education and qualifications**

We're looking for someone with a degree level or equivalent experience in any of the following areas or evidence of professional portfolio in a comparable field:

- English Language/Literature
- Communications
- Content management
- Journalism
- Marketing
- UX

**Special conditions**:

- Offsite visits to clients, partners and suppliers may be required.
- Travel to other BCS offices will be required.
- Some occasional out-of-hours working including weekends may be required.
