The National Trust, a UK-based conservation charity, is seeking an experienced Digital Community Engagement Specialist to join its Social Media Team.

Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is between £25,000 and £35,000, depending on experience.

Job Description

As a Digital Community Engagement Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and growing the National Trust's online audiences, ensuring engagement with its work and connecting people with the organization's mission. This role involves collaborating closely with cross-organizational teams to share updates, resolve supporter issues, and manage crisis communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow and diversify online audiences
  • Plan and schedule social media content to ensure 8am-8pm coverage, 7 days a week, using a team of freelancers
  • Collaborate with supporter services center to resolve supporter issues
  • Partner with communications teams to manage crisis communications and reputational risk
  • Regularly report on audience metrics to stakeholders

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • An understanding of best practices for engaging with online communities
  • Experience delivering online customer service for a brand
  • Knowledge of fundamental processes for managing online communities
  • Ability to collaborate within a team, exchanging ideas and insights
  • Organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work proactively and independently
