**Key Objectives**:

- To provide quality childcare and education which meets individual children’s needs.
- Create an environment, which ensures that all children receive a high standard of care and stimulation enabling them to achieve their potential.
- Ensure that the Learning Environment is stimulating and appropriate for children, including layout, resources and displays and equal opportunities.
- To work as a member of the Nursery Team showing initiative and creativity.
- To work with all children and their families, ensuring we work collaboratively and link with others is as necessary to give the best support to individual children.

**Responsibilities.**

**Operational**:

- Be a reliable member of the team, working cooperatively and with flexibility.
- To work as an equal partner with children in their play at all times.
- Follow a child initiated approach to learning.
- Observe each child’s progress, reporting on achievements, looking for progression and continuity.
- Participate in a Key Carer system.
- Record children’s individual learning and development and future planning needs Observe, and evaluate children’s development and share with parent/carers.
- Develop excellent communication with parents and carers, encouraging participation in Nursery activities and events.
- Attend parent meetings, be involved in fundraising events and assist with the promotion of the Nursery as required.
- Liaise with staff from a range of outside agencies and members of the community as appropriate.
- Work as part of a team in the delivery of a shared vision and philosophy of providing high quality, child focused care and education.

**Personnel**:

- Attend staff meetings, room meetings and training sessions as required, or identified by the manager.
- Participate in all self-development activities, including supervisions/appraisal. Develop positive relationships working cooperatively with others in the organisation.
- Maintain and continue professional development.

**Health and Safety.**
- Undertake a shared responsibility for health and safety and cleanliness throughout the Nursery.
- Ensure general cleanliness of the children at all times.
- As part of the duty to maintain a safe environment operate the highest standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the sleeping, changing and food service areas.
- Be familiar with all emergency and security procedures including evacuation and the collection of children.
- Promote the healthy eating policy, and to be aware of food allergies and special dietary requirements of all children.
- Ensure the safeguarding of all children in our care and report any concerns immediately.

**General.**
- Adhere to all Park Families policies including Health & Safety, Grievance Procedure, Equal Opportunity and Diversity, Complaints Procedure, and the Development Plan of the nursery.
- Ensure full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations, the Data Protection and Confidentiality Policies.
- Adhere to all relevant Government legislation.
- Carry out a range of duties as might be reasonably expected for the post.

This job description will be reviewed regularly and may change in response to service developments or changes in early years legislation and practice.

**Salary**: £17,452.00-£19,369.00 per year
